Inga was born in Odessa, Ukraine and lived there until she was ten when her parents fled the disintegration of the Soviet Union as refugees to the United States. She now holds American citizenship but has mostly been living in Europe. Currently she lives and work in London, and in June 2015 received an MFA from Central Saint Martins.
She is fascinated by the transnational waves of people taking to the streets en masse in clashes of national and political identity since the beginning of the Arab Spring in 2011. The perennial question: “Do events as depicted in the mainstream and social media resemble what’s taking place on the ground?” weighed heavily on her mind towards the end of 2013 when the global zeitgeist of civil disobedience and revolt fell upon Ukraine.
